People often wonder if their lives have meaning. Are you one of them? Do you find yourself endlessly wondering if you measure up—wondering if God approves of you, if you have done enough, performed well enough, and sacrificed enough to earn His approval, and the approval of those around you? Stop. Doing something for others doesn’t give our lives meaning. God is the One who gives our lives meaning through His work on our behalf. He—God Himself—created us in His image with inherent value and worth. Through Jesus, He reconciled us to Himself, restoring our relationship with Him, and drawing us into the grand story of redemption that He is working out on our behalf.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. —John 17:3
Prayer: Lord, remind us where our worth comes from. We find meaning in knowing You, and being known by You in return, through Jesus. In His Name, we pray, amen.
