Life provides many opportunities to make values-based choices. Conflicting values surround us, with God’s Word as one of many different voices that seek our attention and allegiance. For this reason, placing a high value on time in Scripture and in God’s presence is essential for those who want to lead like Jesus. Embracing Jesus’ estimation that loving God and loving others are to be our highest priority provides a foundation for the choices and decisions we face. How do these values guide your life and leadership?
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”—Matthew 22:37-39
Prayer: Jesus, may these words find their way deep into our hearts and minds. May they increasingly shape our leadership perspective, so that Your values guide our daily decisions. In Your name we pray, amen.
