The religious leaders of Jesus’ time could not imagine that God would come in the form of a humble and uncredentialed man. It didn’t enter their thinking that God’s Chosen One would challenge their carefully thought-out religious beliefs. Like them, we may slip into thinking of God from a human perspective and miss what He is doing. We forget that God is—after all—God. This is His world and He is free work in unexpected ways. Where do you need to trust that God is God? Where does God want to transform your perspective?

Then he turned to his critics and asked, “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him. He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. —Mark 3:4-5a NLT

Prayer: Jesus, give me a soft heart and transform my understanding of You and Your ways. In Your name, amen.
