To Serve Patiently

To Serve Patiently

Jesus’ patience with people is remarkable. Consider how often the crowds misunderstood His teaching and actions. Think about the ongoing attempts to discredit Him. The persecution by the religious leaders. The false accusations. His inner circle’s arguing about which of them was the greatest, even as He prepared to give His life for them. Talk about patience! Talk about someone who loves us and works with us in our weakness. Jesus shows us the way, and we know from personal experience the difference it makes. In what ways can you go and do the same today?

As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses . . . in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love. – 2 Corinthians 6:4, 6

Prayer: Jesus, Your patience with us—with me—is humbling. Thank You for coming to dwell with me in my weakness. Help me to patiently love and serve those around me in Your name, amen.
