Ask God

Ask God

Scripture calls us to pray for those in leadership. In the midst of a hostile political climate, Paul urged believers to pray for all people—including governmental authorities—to “ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them” (1 Timothy 2:1-2 NLT). Who are you praying for today?

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity … In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. —1 Timothy 2:1-2, 8 NLT

Prayer: Lord, I lift up __________ to You today. Help them to serve others well. Remind them (and me) to make prayer part of my ongoing leadership strategy. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
