Training Up Future Generations:

It’s the conviction that “it's never too early” that compelled our Lead Like Jesus team in Vietnam to host IGNITE, a character and leadership development training, for over 100 high school students at Thanh Hoa Cathedral in Vietnam.

On March 5th of this year, students from various Catholic student groups gathered at Thanh Hoa Cathedral to discover history’s most powerful leadership role model, Jesus.

Father Nguyen Thai Son opened the day with a very powerful challenge to all the young people, saying that none of us can truly lead unless we lead like Jesus.

The IGNITE training is designed in an interactive way, allowing students to break into small groups and enjoy dynamic, open and very personal discussions around issues like ego, fear, pride, creating personal vision and mission and more.

It was those open discussions in small groups that prompted much conviction, challenged students’ perspective on leadership, and engaged them in honest conversations about what leading like Jesus means to them personally.

After the IGNITE training, many students shared their personal experience. Here is what several of them had to say:

“Before the course started I did not understand what will be taught… But just minutes after the initial greeting I felt my heart differently…”

“We met friendly and open people that were willing to sacrifice their time to tell us more about Jesus. We met Jesus through these people…”

“I learned a lot more than leadership! I’ve been depressed thinking about my future. I felt weak. But today I learned to face head on my weaknesses. I regained a smile and spirit of peace.”

“Activities in the section: The Habits of Leaders were very impressive. I never sensed God’s word so close to me. I had the sensation that Jesus Himself was talking to me…”

Those are just a few of many more stories and testimonies from young men and women in Vietnam, who for the first time understood the power of leading like Jesus.

At Lead Like Jesus we wholeheartedly believe in empowering future generations to be change agents in their spheres of influence.

When Jesus and His leadership model are embraced by young people such as these, one day they will become spouses, parents, employees, employers, policy makers and church leaders full of character, integrity, conviction and boldness.

If you're passionate about raising up future generations around the globe to carry the banner of Jesus wherever they go and in whatever they do, we’d love for you to join us!

“Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20: 25-28
