Sarah, a former Muslim, is spreading the name of Jesus throughout her village in southwestern Nigeria. Despite her family’s Islamic heritage, Sarah is determined to lead like Jesus. She was encouraged by her church family to start Lead Like Jesus training for Church Planters. Sarah began her training nearly a year ago and is seeing God work in mighty ways in the village where she ministers. “When I and my team first got to the village, there were strong forces which resisted our presence. They knew we came with the Gospel of Jesus, so they wanted to discourage us, but we were determined to stay and we did. After we launched the fire of evangelism, many gave their lives to Christ.”
Sarah is seeing men and women from all walks of life coming together to worship, even when it means exclusion or excommunication. “I thank God for the grace to stand for Him today. I am also grateful to God for Lead Like Jesus, who opened my eyes to see the world differently through the leadership and mission training programs. Honestly, I am humbled as I’m learning to lead like Jesus in my mission field.”
Sarah is just getting started. There’s much excitement as her church continues growing in numbers and meeting needs in her village. God has given Sarah great vision for advancing His Kingdom. “Please pray with us. We are trusting God for free Bibles and other materials for the next phase of action. God is faithful to provide for our needs.” Would you pray for Sarah and her church leadership? Will you consider making a tax-deductible donation to support her work in the village? Many other leaders like Sarah need training and resources to lead like Jesus in their communities. Together, we will see communities grow and cultures change around the world in Jesus’ name.
