Consider the ordinary events of Jesus’ birth. A little boy was born, took His first breaths, and was swaddled, just like any other newborn. But He was far from ordinary. This child’s conception and birth were announced by angels. Shepherds and Magi alike came to worship Him. He offers the right to become children of God to all who recognize, receive, and trust Him.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his   glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. –John 1:12-14

Prayer: Jesus, I have seen Your glory. Give me the life that only You can give. Transform me. In Your name and for Your sake, live through me, I pray, amen.
