What Are You Waiting For

What Are You Waiting For

Waiting is part of life. We wait for any number of things: for people to complete tasks, for phone calls, for circumstances to change. The Bible is full of waiting, too. Moses waited through ten plagues, David endured persecution as he waited to be crowned king, Ruth, Esther, Nehemiah, Jeremiah—ultimately, each one was waiting for God. They trusted that God was at work even in their waiting. When we humbly wait on God, He prepares us to respond in God-exalting confidence when it is time. What are you waiting for?

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you. – Psalm 33:20-22

Prayer: Lord, let my waiting be characterized by hope, humility, and God-confidence as I abide in Your unfailing love. Prepare me, even now, to be used for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
