Waiting for the Manger

Waiting for the Manger

The story of the manger began in the infinite wisdom of God and sprung from His heart of love. God’s people through the ages waited to see how His plan would unfold. In today’s world, the weeks before Christmas are rarely characterized by God-focused waiting. Calendars and to-do lists are filled with holiday preparations and events, end-of-year business deadlines, family gatherings, and church celebrations. As leaders, we have the opportunity to shape how our families, churches, and businesses approach Christmas. What do you need to do this month to keep your focus on God and lead like Jesus?

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. —Luke 2:25

Prayer: Holy Spirit, rest upon us as You did on Simeon. May we order our lives and the lives of those in our spheres of influence in light of Jesus, the child laid in a manger so many centuries ago, amen.
