Virtues in Action

Virtues in Action

Paul urges believers to let their relationships with one another be characterized by Jesus-like virtues: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another and forgiveness (Col. 3:12-13). As vital as practicing each of these virtues is to building Jesus-like relationships, one virtue stands supreme: love. Love, also, must be consciously chosen and actively put into practice. In all of this, we follow Jesus, our leader. As Jesus chose the path of love, so we consciously choose to live as new creations in Him and reflect Him in our relationships with others. Who will experience God’s love and grace through you today?

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. —  Colossians 3:14

Prayer: Lord, today I choose to put on attitudes that reflect Your presence in my life and to act in ways that extend Your love and grace to those in my spheres of influence. Let me be a living example of You, Jesus. Amen.
