Timely Encouragement

Timely Encouragement

Consider the content of God’s message to Elijah after Elijah’s bold announcement to Ahab. The Lord provided direction, protection, and daily provision for His servant. God’s word to him was the encouragement Elijah needed to hear at the exact time that Elijah needed it. The Lord still speaks today. God’s Word and Spirit provide what we need when we need to hear it. Are you listening?

Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.  You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” – 1 Kings 17:2-4

Prayer: Lord, meet me at my point of need today. Tune my heart and open my ears to hear the wisdom and encouragement You have for me. Show me where to go and what to do next and meet my needs so that I can thrive and serve You during difficult times. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
