Jesus’ resurrection appearances caught even His closest disciples by surprise. Peter needed God to directly intervene to convince him to go to the Gentiles. Paul experienced several closed doors in ministry before discerning God’s direction to go to Macedonia. How do you respond to unexpected events, unconventional opportunities, closed doors, or unforeseen results? Let them prompt you to lean into God to seek His Spirit and perspective so that you can align yourself with His movement.

Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. —Acts 16:6-7

Prayer: God, help me respond to unexpected circumstances and opportunities by leaning into You so that my response exalts You and furthers Your purposes. Help me align with what You are doing today, like Jesus, in whose name I pray, amen.
