Jesus could steadfastly pursue God’s agenda despite ongoing obstacles. He overcame the devil’s testing. He persevered even when His family and disciples misunderstood His passion and plan. Neither internal disputes among the disciples nor external opposition derailed Him. He remained fixed on the goal of exalting God only through His life. His life shows us the importance of beginning our leadership at the level of our personal relationship with God, with an understanding of whose we are and who we are. Let’s follow His example of finding our identity in knowing and loving God, and living for His glory.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me.”—John 8:42

Prayer: God, ground our identity, confidence, and leadership in You. May we focus on living for Your glory and serving others for their good, like Jesus, in whose name we pray, amen.
