The Silence We Seek

The Silence We Seek

Silence can be a precious commodity in our world. Headlines and news feeds find us wherever we are. Emergency alerts shatter family time, while deadlines push us forward. Silence can be difficult to build into our lives. Some might view silence as emptiness. But for those who follow Jesus, silence is not a mindless escape. And it is certainly not empty. Our silence is pregnant with expectation. We quiet our minds in order to listen for His voice. We don’t ignore our difficulties, but pour them out to a living, listening God. Our silence is full of His presence, wisdom, and peace.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

Prayer: Lord, draw me to You. Bring peace ... order ... perspective. Let me experience the fullness of Your presence, the reality of Your love. Replace unrest with confidence in who You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.
