In Need of Help

In Need of Help

He was traveling, minding his own business, when suddenly, he saw someone in desperate need of help. The decision—to stop and help or go on his way—was thrust upon him without any warning. Excuses could be made—he was a stranger here in this place, after all, and who knew what danger lurked? Perhaps those who had assaulted this man were still nearby. But the Samaritan man’s pity for the victim stirred him to action. What stirs you to action?

[Jesus said:] “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told   him, “Go and do likewise.”—Luke 10:36-37

Prayer: Jesus, open my eyes and my heart to the people around me who need help. Let me freely give my time and resources and finances to help, as You commanded. In Your name I pray, amen.
