The Magi

The Magi

When the Magi realized the importance of the heavenly sign, they set out on a journey to find the One whose birth it announced. They willingly traveled a long distance at great personal cost. Their focus on their mission—to find the newborn king and give Him the honor and respect He was due—stands in distinct contrast to the mission Herod authorized. The Magi took what little they knew and set out, trusting God each step of the way. Wise men indeed. Herod took all that he knew and set out to thwart God’s plan, defying God every way he could. Does what you know of God’s plan cause you to exalt God or to defy Him?

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. – Matthew 2: 10-11a

Prayer: Lord, lead me to step out in faith like the Magi and exalt You through my life and leadership. In Jesus’ name, amen.
