Jesus accepted His disciples for who they were. He knew each of them by name; He understood who they were and what they were capable of. Jesus doesn’t seem to have tried to get any of them to be more like any of the other disciples. Instead, Jesus invited them to walk with Him and work with Him. This relational way of influencing others, of helping them become who God created them to be, is at the core of leading like Jesus. Who are you investing in like this?
He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons. – Mark 3:14-15
Prayer: Jesus, I am very grateful that You invited me to walk with You and work with You. Help me walk and work with others so that, together, we can become who God created us to be. In Your name I pray, amen.
