It Takes Time

It Takes Time

None of us are gifted at every task we undertake. Yes, we may have come into this world with a propensity for learning quickly or for performing certain tasks well. But even if we have been gifted by God in an area, we still have to learn how to lead like Jesus, just like the first disciples did. And that takes time. Time to learn to listen to Him. To exalt God and not ourselves. To serve with love. It takes time for us to learn. And it takes time for those we are leading. Thankfully, Jesus takes time to teach His disciples, even now. Will we, like Jesus, take time to teach those in our care?

After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee. – Matthew 11:1

Prayer: Lord, thank You for patiently teaching me. Remind me to take time to teach others. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
