God, Who Raises the Dead

God, Who Raises the Dead

We can imagine the apostle Paul moving through each day with God, led by the Spirit, trusting that whatever the day held—whether or not it aligned with his plans or expectations—all was good. But Paul also wrote about pressing troubles and pressure that caused deep despair. He testified that God used those days to teach the disciples to turn from self-reliance and rely on God. What circumstance is God teaching you to rely on Him and who He is?

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. – 2 Corinthians 1:8-9

Prayer: Lord, remind me today—regardless of the challenges I face—to rely on who You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.
