An Encouraging Word

An Encouraging Word

The Bible speaks frequently of encouragement. Sometimes the focus is on the encouragement we have in our relationship with God. Sometimes the focus is on encouraging one another by talking or meeting together. Sometimes it’s about making encouraging others a daily priority. Sometimes it’s about the encouragement that comes when we know God will re-direct us if we get off track. Sometimes the focus is on the encouragement that comes from getting an eternal perspective. Who do you know who needs to be encouraged today? Is it you?

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Prayer: Lord, some days I am the one who needs encouragement. I’m grateful that Your Word speaks about it so much. Let Paul’s words to the Thessalonians sink into my heart and encourage and strengthen me. Then use me to encourage others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
