Over and over in his letters to churches, Paul begs believers to lead lives worthy of those who have been called by God. Should there be any doubt as to what he means, he describes lives of humility, overflowing joy, patience, love for one another, and peace, unity, and self-control. His words echo Jesus and other New Testament writers. Knowing Jesus is not about abstract concepts or philosophies, it is about changed lives, changed values, changed habits and relationships. To lead like Jesus means that we are being changed by Jesus.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. —Ephesians 4:2-3
Prayer: Jesus, how are we changing because we know You? How do you want our leadership to change? Change us, so that our lives will reflect You to the world around us. In Your Name, we pray, amen.
