• Leadership Begins on the Inside

    Blog | Owen Phelps | May 08, 2018

Leadership is about relationships more than structure – much more. So it may seem counter-intuitive that leadership begins on the inside. But effective leadership, especially Jesus-like leadership, does begin on the inside. It starts with the leader’s motivation.

If we don’t get the heart right, not much else can turn out good either.

  • Are you a Grateful Leader?

    3 Key Indicators

    Blog | Charles Stone | May 03, 2018

Jesus once performed an amazing mass healing when he healed 10 lepers all at once (Luke 17.11-19). However, what amazed Jesus most was that only one leper came back to thank him. The responses these lepers gave so astounded Jesus that Luke records three questions He asked out loud after the healing. “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?

  • Fairness Bias

    Blog | April 26, 2018

“It’s not fair!” “Life’s not fair!”

As either an adult, parent or child, each one of us has said those words to ourselves, our children or others. We truly believed that what had happened to us or around us was not fair. defines fair as “in accordance with the rules or standards; legitimate.” This begs the question, of course, who’s rules and standards?!  For most of us, 'who' generally means our perspective whatever that might be!

  • The Mindful Leader

    Blog | Gilbert Camacho | April 24, 2018

I think at some time in our lives we have all been there.  We awaken and rather than feeling refreshed, we are overcome by feelings of anxiety.  Perhaps, our relationships are going through trying times, taxes and bills are due, work is falling behind, or we aren’t feeling well.

  • Embracing Your Uniqueness

Blog | Robert and Lori Ferguson | April 19, 2018

You are unique. God, the Creator, made you that way.

Of course we are all made in the image of God.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27

But this doesn’t mean He made a bunch of clones. Quite the contrary. God created each of us as unique individuals that make up the body of Christ.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

  • Delegation

    4 Reasons It’s Hard & 4 Ways To Improve

    Blog | Owen Phelps | April 12, 2018

You don’t have to dig very deep into most books about management or leadership before you come to an admonition that in order to be an effective leader or manager you have to learn how to delegate.

What could be so difficult about that?

I mean, why would anyone have to struggle to let someone else do some of their work? Delegating makes work easier. Heck, it frees up time for personal as well as professional activities – which is to say, it makes life better. Why would anyone resist that?

  • Changes and Transformations

    Blog | Christine Vogelsang | April 10, 2018

“If you move this bookcase into the living room and then pull the couch away from the wall to angle into the room, I think you’ll like the change.”

My good friend has an eye for making a room look wonderful. She knows I don’t spend a lot of money on furnishings, and she’s quick to work her magic with what’s in front of her. She’d been to my house on many occasions, and I knew she’d been rearranging my furniture in her head for some time.
