A Time for Everything!

A Time for Everything!

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

The Preacher of Ecclesiastes presented a message that is relevant for every time on earth. Each year presents us with four seasons. Depending on where you live, you may be able to see them more distinctly than those who live in places where the weather is more temperate or severe during most of the year.

There is also a time to the things of life, a flow as we move from season of life to season of life. As a child we can’t wait to be a teenager, as a teenager we can’t wait to be an adult, as an adult we wonder where life went and as older adults, we perhaps wonder if we could be a “child again just for tonight.”

There is a time to the things of life, a flow as we move from season to season.

Lead Like Jesus teaches that there are seasons to leadership. There will be times when you are sought out to lead a team or an organization. There may be other times when you will be in a follower role. Neither is more important than the other – just part of the ebb and flow of the seasons of life. Our responsibility whether we serve as a leader or a follower is to stay true to the leadership of Jesus by modeling love, service and compassion for all – being the very best at whatever you do for the glory of God. Colossians 3:17 reminds us, And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

What season do you find yourself in? Does it bring you satisfaction? Are you seeking to serve as Jesus served whatever the task?  How will you live your life differently today knowing that Jesus is the One you are serving?
