  • Follow His Instructions

    Devotionals | April 30, 2018

Does it sometimes amaze you that God chooses to use people like us? Consider how little the disciples really understood as they began to lead like Jesus. They didn’t have a sophisticated theology, they just followed His instructions. Their leadership was really a matter of humble obedience and God-confidence. Wherever you are on the transformational journey of becoming a Jesus-like leader, you, too, can humble, confidently, and obediently follow Jesus’ instructions.

  • When Help Is Needed

    Devotionals | April 27, 2018

Jesus assured His disciples that He and the Father and the Spirit would make their home with them to enable them to live as His witnesses. This promise was not just for the earliest disciples. In his prayer in John 17, Jesus consecrated Himself to being available to all future disciples in the same way. What challenges are you facing today? Where do you need to remember His promise?

“I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”—John 17:26

  • Fairness Bias

    Blog | April 26, 2018

“It’s not fair!” “Life’s not fair!”

As either an adult, parent or child, each one of us has said those words to ourselves, our children or others. We truly believed that what had happened to us or around us was not fair. defines fair as “in accordance with the rules or standards; legitimate.” This begs the question, of course, who’s rules and standards?!  For most of us, 'who' generally means our perspective whatever that might be!

  • Surprise

    Devotionals | April 25, 2018

Jesus’ resurrection appearances caught even His closest disciples by surprise. Peter needed God to directly intervene to convince him to go to the Gentiles. Paul experienced several closed doors in ministry before discerning God’s direction to go to Macedonia. How do you respond to unexpected events, unconventional opportunities, closed doors, or unforeseen results? Let them prompt you to lean into God to seek His Spirit and perspective so that you can align yourself with His movement.

  • The Mindful Leader

    Blog | Gilbert Camacho | April 24, 2018

I think at some time in our lives we have all been there.  We awaken and rather than feeling refreshed, we are overcome by feelings of anxiety.  Perhaps, our relationships are going through trying times, taxes and bills are due, work is falling behind, or we aren’t feeling well.

  • Restless

    Devotionals | April 23, 2018

The pace of life in our highly connected world seldom slows down of its own accord. Information, questions, and demands easily flow through the airwaves and internet into devices that we hold in our hands and carry in our pockets. The persistent restlessness and accompanying anxiety can keep us constantly on edge. Even in His day, Jesus called disciples away from the pressure of the crowd’s incessant activity. He continues to call us away today. What steps can you (and will you) take to find the rest He offers?

  • Work

    Devotionals | April 20, 2018

From the world’s perspective, work is often viewed as a curse, something to get done so that we can get on to relaxing and having fun. In contrast, from God’s perspective, work is a gift that reflects His creativity and energy and life-giving nature. By inviting us to join Him in His work of caring for creation in all its facets, God gave human beings purpose and significance and an opportunity to experience the satisfaction He experienced in creation. What work has God given you to do?

  • Embracing Your Uniqueness

Blog | Robert and Lori Ferguson | April 19, 2018

You are unique. God, the Creator, made you that way.

Of course we are all made in the image of God.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27

But this doesn’t mean He made a bunch of clones. Quite the contrary. God created each of us as unique individuals that make up the body of Christ.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” – 1 Corinthians 12:27

  • Know Yourself

    Devotionals | April 18, 2018

Each of us has been shaped by God to reflect His image. Some of us naturally reflect His direct, action-oriented approach to the world, while others more naturally reflect His deep love for people, His passion to communicate with us, or His concern for every aspect and detail of life. When we make it our goal to honor Him with who we are and how we live, He works through us and helps us adapt our behavior to the people and situations around us. How does He want to work through you today?
