Strategic Relationships are a key component of spreading the message of Lead Like Jesus and reaching our vision of 6.8 billion souls being served daily by the impact of people leading like Jesus. Our desire is to come alongside organizations and provide their core leadership training. This is being carried out in a variety of ways with organizations large and small.
The Southern Baptist Convention state conventions were an early adopter of the Lead Like Jesus message as was the International Mission Board (IMB) of the SBC. Almost half state conventions use our Leadership Encounter program with their state staffs, pastors and lay leaders in their state. The IMB uses the Encounter with their staff in Richmond as well as to train new missionaries before they are deployed and as continuing education “on the field.”
The Bible League International in Crete, IL has adopted Lead Like Jesus as their leadership training and is committed to roll it out worldwide. Their home office as well as several global connections have experienced the Encounter. President Rob Frank has indicated his passion to continue this process through the foreseeable future. They are looking at ways to implement LLJ concepts into their existing processes. They currently have 12 LLJ facilitators on staff.
The Evangelical Christian Credit Union (ECCU) in Brea, CA has adopted servant leadership as a core value and is in their third year of integrating Lead Like Jesus throughout their staff structure.
Joni and Friends also in CA began the Encounter with their Executive team four years ago and have continued to drive it down the organizational structure.
Awana in Chicago through LLJ facilitator Lyndon Azcuna has taken the Encounter to new places as a core teaching in their Malachi Dads program in prisons. Since children of prisoners are seven times more likely to become inmates themselves, Awana is committed to reaching their dads to influence the children. Awana currently has programs in 27 prisons.
A new venture in partnerships happened when Executive Board member Vince Siciliano helped to promote the Encounter to Santa Fe Christian Schools in San Diego. Valley Christian Schools in the Los Angeles area has hosted three Encounters with a variety of trustees and staff. They are engaged in an ongoing process and have encouraged the Association of Christian Schools International to adopt the Encounter as their core leadership program for all of their schools.
Teen Challenge is developing a team of LLJ facilitators for their worldwide operation. They recently held a facilitator training session at their conference center in AL. With over 1000 sites around the world they are ready to implement LLJ.
Two universities – Southeastern University in FL and Olivet Nazarene University in IL - have both made a commitment to adopt Lead Like Jesus into their core teaching through the LLJ master’s level curriculum, the use of the Encounter with faculty and staff groups and, in the near future, with students.
Read the list on this page to learn of others in similar situations that love the material and are bringing it to those in their spheres of influence. Think of organizations that you know that could benefit from the Leadership Encounter training and the integration of Lead Like Jesus concepts into their work. The goal of 6.8 billion souls could be reached as we reach out to others and come alongside.
And the lists go on …
