“2016 Best Christian Workplace” Lead Like Jesus equips organizations seeking greater influence

Lead Like Jesus (LLJ) has been certified as a 2016 Best Christian Workplace by the Best Christian Workplace Institute (BCWI). Beyond affirming the ministry as a healthy workplace, going through the certification process provides Lead Like Jesus with additional insight and credibility as they inspire and equip other nonprofit ministries, churches, and faith-led businesses.

“Our desire is to help other organizations achieve their unique calling and maximize their influence,” said Phyllis Hennecy Hendry, president/CEO of Lead Like Jesus. “We do this by providing leadership consultation, resources and training to flourishing and struggling organizations alike. As leaders of these organizations learn to lead like Jesus, they experience a transformed culture and achieve greater results.”

Also among the 2016 honorees is long-time LLJ partner Joni & Friends, who credits Lead Like Jesus for helping them become a Best Christian Workplace for the 11th consecutive year. “Lead Like Jesus is the cornerstone of our culture,” said Doug Mazza, president and COO for Joni & Friends. “It affects everything we do. Lead Like Jesus will make a significant difference in the culture and and success of any organization.”

In order to qualify as a Best Christian Workplace, an organization must achieve an average score of at least 4.0 on a 5.0 employee satisfaction survey. Some of Lead Like Jesus’ highest employee scores were in response to the questions:

  • Long-term loyal relationships with those we serve are highly valued;”
  • Leaders demonstrate compassion for people at all levels;”
  • There is a high level of trust between leaders and staff/employees;” and
  • Leaders keep a focus on putting Christ first in daily decision-making.”

“We are very pleased to see such strong scores in the dimension we call Inspirational Leadership,” said Al Lopus, president of BCWI. “LLJ’s results reflect high levels of trust and servant leadership, modeling Christ-like character”

As part of their long-term strategy for supporting other organizations, Lead Like Jesus encourages leaders of faith-led nonprofits, businesses, churches and schools to take part in the BCWI’s annual survey.

“The in-depth results of the Best Christian Workplace assessment provides tremendous clarity on the unique strengths and struggles of an organization,” says Hendry. “That’s why we encourage our partners to take advantage of this practical assessment to help guide the conversation.”
