    Devotionals | April 29, 2016

How many of us would say that we are living the lives Jesus calls and invites us to live? How many of us would say that we are the people we want to be, the leaders He wants us to be? Before getting overwhelmed with how far we want to go, let’s shrink the boundary and focus on today. What does following Him today look like? Ask Him to give you His perspective on how to live and lead today as one who follows Him.

  • In God We Trust

    In God We Trust.

These words are listed as the official motto of the United States, though not without debate – and certainly not without controversy. It appears on most of our money, both coin and paper. It was originally chosen to replace “E pluribus unum” or “Out of many, one.” It is reflected in music, poetry, writings, etc.

  • Take Heart

    Devotionals | April 27, 2016

Where does your confidence lie? What brings you peace during chaos? When facing difficult days, where do you find courage and strength? Scripture reveals God’s faithfulness as His people’s rock, fortress, and protection. Jesus acknowledged that His disciples would face hard times, even as He Himself was facing the cross. In the face of this reality, He called His disciples to take heart and find peace in Him. When troubles come into your life, when leadership challenges overwhelm you, turn to Him. Take heart! He knows the way forward.

An Afghan proverb says; “if you think you’re leading and no one is following, then you’re only taking a walk.”

It was never God’s intent for us to live isolated or alone. The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him (Genesis 2:18).”

It was never God’s intent for us to live isolated or alone.

  • Just a Little Talk with Jesus

    Devotionals | April 25, 2016

Jesus frequently taught His disciples in private. While many of these private conversations have gone unrecorded, Scripture gives us glimpses into their time together. When was the last time you spent time with Jesus, talking about how life is going, the condition of your heart, what He wants you to learn from your failures, how to meet your leadership challenges? Many things fill a leader’s calendar. Is time with Jesus one of them?
